It’s that time of year again – Halloween. Halloween is a bit controversial here down under. It’s viewed as an American thing so there are people who are into it and people who are not. Over the years it has gotten bigger here and at the stores there is all the Halloween merchandise. When I was growing up there was barely anything. So where do you sit. Halloween – Do you or Don’t you?
Before children I was neither here nor there about it but did love a good Halloween party at the pub. I mean who doesn’t love dancing the night away scoffing wine, thinking you are Madonna on the dance floor, no one to get up to in the morning and wearing an awesome costume. What a night. Bring it on I say.
These days it about a bit of fun for the kids. Buy a couple of cheap decorations from the Red Dot store and have some fun with them and lollies. We don’t have door knockers here. I wouldn’t mind a few little callers as that is fun. But on the other hand if you were on a street like my sisters you wouldn’t be happy. She lives in small town and her street has become to be known as the place to go. Now if I didn’t have children I wouldn’t be to happy about Halloween on her street either. A couple of years ago one of her neighbours counted and the clocked up over 100 trickle treaters —- Now that is scary, on fact that is horrific!! They lock up and go out for dinner for the night or put a sign up. I think 100 is just a bit to much. Good luck for this year sister 😉
How about you? Do you like Halloween or can you not be bothered with it?
