Wow yesterday was an awesome day. I did an interview for You Tube Channel 1000 Women 1000 Ways with Jennifer Gillson. It was so exciting and really weird to be speaking on camera.
I met Jennifer a few months ago at a networking meeting for Passionate Women with Azelene Williams who runs Kidzucate a non profit organization which provides community based education to protect the rights of our youth. On that day I literally stumbled into the network meeting for the first time, there’s a film crew from WasTV and massive buzz happening. Jennifer was filming Azelene and the Passionate Women. Here Jennifer and I got talking and a couple of days later she rang to ask if I would do and interview for her. How exciting. I seriously love film and if I had my days again I would love to do a film degree and make documentaries.
Yesterday I drove into the city. I rocked up at St Georges Tce which I was able to park under the building now that’s a huge bonus in itself. Parking in the city where you actually have to be. Right on!! Jennifer is supported by Spacecubed an awesome work space and mentoring organisation for start up businesses. There was no one there except for Jennifer and the film team but it was so funking and happening and there wasn’t even anyone in the office. Now that’s what I call a great office vibe. It would be great to go into the city once every few weeks and grab a desk and work on your projects in such a wonderful space.
The filming took place in an old bank vault that had been converted….. cool…. I mean how much cooler can it get than that. The film crew where from WasTV which is a non profit organisation that provides professional film and photography services to the WA community. The crew were great. Friendly, fun and lovely.
The filming didn’t take long only about half and hour. When we started I felt really animated and weird. It took a little while to relax and I didn’t full relax with the camera. I made a massive Freudian slip….. arrrgh it was so embarrassing and I don’t know if it will be edited out. But Jennifer and I were laughing our heads off. We’ll have to wait and see. I am not going to say what it is you’ll also have to wait and see. The interview will come out in January 2016.
The topic you ask. The topic was being a Single Mum by choice. We talked about my journey and the processes of how to do it. After we had finished and I got home I thought of things I had wanted to say but didn’t. I suppose that is not surprising as it’s such a huge topic. I also got to talk about the Mumpreneurs WA and where I am going with that so that was great too.
What can I say but a massive thank you to Jennifer for the interview for You Tube Channel 1000 Women 1000 Ways for an amazing experience. I had such a ball and I love new experience in fantastic places. I feel so fortune to be the road I am. The journey is taking me to places and things I wouldn’t be doing if I had chosen not to start a little home business. I am no longer on the same road as where I started but I feel I am on the right road. I actually can’t see where it is going or how I am going to get there but I am enjoying the walk. No running here, been there and done that before and got burnt out.
Enough about me and back to Jennifer. Jennifer is one inspiring and amazing woman. Go and check out her You Tube channel and you can also join her on Facebook. She is interviewing women from all walks of life and each story is unique and inspiring.
